Denver of Bust II
So to get to Denver, obviously I had to get a new job. I will be working as a Sr. Developer (Programmer) at Graebel. Graebel is a world wide moving company (yes the irony is not lost here). They are based in Aurora, CO.
I am very excited to take this new position, it seems almost everyone in the department's skills are comairable or better to mine. We will be using SCRUM (a flavor of Agile programming). They seem to be as dedicated as I am to doing whatever it taskes to create a quality product. My direct supervisor (Amy) used to work for Microsoft, I hope to learn a lot from her.
My first day is 12/6.

Denver or Bust!
So, everyone knows now that we are on our way to the mile high city. I thought I might keep this blog to detail our adventures.
I can start by saying my last day of work at my current job is 11/29, very soon. Given that I am expected at my new job on 12/6 I have decided to hit the road on 11/30. I understand that it should be a 3 day drive, but if you know me you know that I wont accept that. I am going to try and cut it to 2 1/2 days or less.
Everyone knows my main mode of transportation is my corvette (Candice), given that it is winter there and they already have snow we have purchased a new truck (Cheyenne). She is a brand new 2011 Toyota Tundra double cab. I plan to pull a trailer with the a lot of our stuff as I go. Candice will stay here in O-town for the winter.
At this point it looks like I am going to start off homeless. We are planning to get me a residence hotel, but that isnt even setup yet. I will drop off our stuff in a storage room (also TBD) and head to the hotel.
From there I will begin shaping our life, looking for a rental for the family and taking care of other details. Speaking of the family, they are set to join me at new years. I will fly back to O-town and drive the moving truck back, Leanne will follow in her car bringing Megan along with her. Derek will fly out with Mom once we get there.
We had a garage sale last weekend and sold a lot of furniture, so that we can travel light as possible. There is no need to bring the items that will not survive the move, and we probably cant use anyway. We also have already started packing. Thanksgiving will be our last event at the orlando house. After we move it will be put up for rent (since the Orlando housing market is so bad).
I encourage everyone to comment, atleast then I know it is being read. :)
